Backyard couldn’t let another year go by without doing something. We are having 1 comp this fall at Adam’s place.
September 24th, 2011.
Registration starts at 2:00pm.
Home of Adam Page: 4885 Meandering Creek
Belmont MI, 49306
Cost: $25 includes climbing, meal, snacks, and ninja warrior course.
Proceeds will be donated to local charity.
In addition, after climbing on the outdoor boulder, you can watch it go up in flames….Boulder Bonfire!
Bring a crash pad or two to help protect the falls around the boulder.

so far the first 2 event have been great. thanks to all that joined in the fun. lets rally all the non-competion climbers to come out and climb with us. its more about hanging together than competing together.

Hey everyone! The next comp is coming up on August 8th at Kyle Shobe’s place. He’s recently done a total remodel on his wall (which is outside by the way) and it’s looking awesome! Don’t forget..as always..the boulder will be there..this is an outdoor comp my friends!
Registration starts at 2, climbing starts at 3.
Location:
23446 Sans Souci St.
Farmington Hills,MI (it’s not too far for anyone)
Entry Fee: $20 (This includes your climbing, prizes you win, and food and drinks)

Thanks to all that were able to make it to Joe’s comp. It was another beautiful day to climb. People traveled from all over the State of Michigan and the group from Wisconsin made the trip once again. The routes worked all of us, the food tasted great (thanks to Chris and John for manning the smoker), and once again, EVERYONE walked away with something. Tyler Haack continued his string of Open 1 wins by barely edging out the Wisconsin boy, Kelsen Alexander, by 1 attempt. Local competitors, Paulie Abissi and Diane Bui, won the Open 2 category, and Diane dominated the female category. Over 400$ on cash and prizes was handed out and everyone who showed up was able to hang out with good friends, climb challenging routes (thanks Joe), ate a scrumptious meal, and left with some type of prize. Check back soon for pictures and video. Next up is Kyle’s comp in Farmington Hills, MI. He is making some major changes to his wall right now and you better work on your endurance for the next comp. Hey everyone! The next comp is coming up on July 11th. It is in Allendale, MI at Joe Matecki’s place. The boulder is already in his driveway, and the routes are being set. Hopefully you can come check out his new wall he built in the basement. Get ready for some overhung climbing my friends…we’ll have more info posted on the Facebook page over the next few weeks.
